Successful Camping Trip

This past weekend was so awesome. The weather was great and everything worked out very well. There were two lessons learned on this trip.

1. Children should be taught at home not to drink bath water.
2. Raccoons LOVE Hillshire Farms Honey Ham

Explanation #1
After a complete melt down in the State Park Showers (because Colden HATES water spraying in his face, and that was happening constantly) Colden finally calmed down when his turn was done. I finished up and went on the dressing side of the shower. Colden started stomping around (in his sandals) in the pool of water that was left going down the drain. Before I could stop him, he crouched down and drank water off the PUBLIC SHOWER floor. OH MY GOODNESS. I nearly ran out of there naked and screaming. I freaked him out even more than the shower did, and he commenced screaming AGAIN. Yuck. He always drinks his bath water at home, which is no big deal, but now we have decided to not let it even happen at home because of what is expected other places. The only respite I got was in realizing that we had just showered for at least 10 min with water and soap and hopefully SOME of the funk had been washed down the drain.

Explanation #2
Night one we had put our food box up in the car but left out the cooler because we really didn't have any food in it. About 2 am, I woke Cliff saying "CLIFF, something is in our Cooler!" So Cliff looks out and sees that the cooler is open and there was stuff out of it. He got out and decided that a raccoon had dug out the honey ham lunch meat, opened it, and ate all the contents. He also got out the pickles but was unsuccessful at opening it. Well, Cliff put the cooler in the car, and we got a good laugh.
Night two we really hadn't made much trash, and our trash was hanging on a "raccoon safe pole" so we didn't take it to the dumpster. About 2 am the second night, I woke Cliff saying " CLIFF, something is in our trash!" So Cliff looks out and sees that the trash had a small hole in it, and the honey ham lunch meat package was laying on the ground. He said "The ham container is out, that is just creepy!" So this time Cliff took all the trash up to the dumpster. We got a good laugh again, and actually it keeps coming up and making us laugh again and again.

Camping Trip

WAHOO! Tomorrow is our camping trip. I don't think I could be more excited. We are going to turn our phones OFF and just be for the weekend. We are driving to Tyler State Park, and I feel like I am seriously going on Vacation! Colden is so excited, too. He keeps saying "sleep outside?" I think that is the part he is most looking forward to. He had such a blast last time, I just know this time will be even greater!

Be back late on Easter Sunday! Thank you Heavenly Father for giving us your son, who died for us! May we all remember that this weekend!

Holy Week

This week is sometimes referred to as Holy Week. It is just that. Passover begins tonight, and 2000 years ago Passover was a trying time for the people who loved and persecuted Jesus. Those who loved Him were so confused on what was going on and why Jesus did nothing to stop it, and those who persecuted Him shortly later found out by a blood moon that they had made a really bad choice. Jesus Christ, the son of God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, was convicted, scourged, and crucified. It was ALL of us who put Him on that cross, and for all of us that He went through with it.
Let's honor Him this week in our actions, and thank God for allowing us to live free forever.

Turner Dean Jobe

34 week cheeks! That is what you see that is white. This is his little (or chubby) face. Oh and this one DOES have my nose! :)

Finished MidTerm

Just took my midterm, made a 95. It was a breeze, but the test anxiety was TERRIBLE. I guess because there are so few grades and it was a pretty heavily weighted item.

This verse keeps coming back to me in many forms. I need to share.

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5

I know that we really do need to take every thought captive. There are so many lies floating around out there, and we HAVE to stick to the truth. It's a battlefield, the mind. Don't let it take you the wrong direction.

HELP

So I have one month until I live in Cleburne to have Turner. The crib is not put together, the room is a disaster, the clothes are in big totes, etc. I need to get ready for this baby. Seriously.

Texas

I love my state! It is so beautiful. Driving home yesterday evening on back roads with all the bluebonnets and rolling hills of new green. I love Texas.

Fun

We have had a fun, and productive day! Got to see YaYa and get some errands done. Took a nap, went on a walk, and played in the water outside since it is in the 90's. WOW!
Tomorrow is Clayton Graham's 3rd birthday. I can't believe it. That means that in 7 months, we will be having a similar experience. Cannot believe these boys are growing up so fast! After that party we have a wedding shower in Dallas. Cliff and I are leaving Colden with Gram and GranJobe and going to Dallas without him. Then after the shower we will have a 'date night'. Anytime away, just the two of us is so wonderful right now. Maybe because we know that soon, it will not be possible!
